Denise I. Griffiths CPAM Scholarship Introduction

In April 1989, CPAM began awarding $1,000 scholarships, renewable for three years, to future mathematics teachers. In April 1997, the scholarship was increased to $1,500 renewable for three years for a total of $6,000. In April 2005, the scholarship was increased to $2,000 renewable for three years for a total of $8,000. The CPAM Scholarship was named the Denise I. Griffiths CPAM Scholarship in April 1994 to recognize the contributions of Denise I. Griffiths, DE 1983, to CPAM.

Applicants for this scholarship must be nominated by a Presidential Awardee. The nominee must be a student or former student of the Awardee, a student with whom the Awardee has worked closely in an extracurricular capacity, or the son or daughter of an Awardee. Each year an Awardee may nominate at most one student.An application form is included with the December issue of CPAM's newsletter or you may click here for an HTML copy or
click here for a copy: Word | PDF format. Applications must be postmarked by March 1, 2008.

Applicants will be informed of the name of the scholarship recipient by April 25.

CPAM Notes - Our quarterly newsletter that provides members with information on upcoming events, highlights of professional activities, and minutes of the Board of Directors meetings.

CPAM Website - An electronic means to provide members with a means to locate current information regarding our council and to stay informed about professional activities. The web site is made possible through volunteers and is is hosted by the Teachers Development Group which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving all students' mathematical understanding and achievement through meaningful, effective professional development. CPAM Listserv - The CPAM Listserv is an electronic means to stay in touch through e-mail. This service is provided through volunteers and is hosted by the North Central Regional Educational Laboratory (NCREL). Information on joining the CPAM Listserv may be acquired by sending an e-mail message to Susan

The listserv is a monitored list and is open to CPAM members only.

CPAM Dues - Dues information is provided for you on the Membership Dues Information page. Please keep your membership up todate so that you may benefit from all that CPAM has to offer.
